Education and Group Visits

Youth Group Visits

There is always plenty to see and do in our museums! For more information, download our Youth Group Visit Pack or contact Sue Mackay, our Learning & Access Officer on 01765 690799 or email learning@riponmuseums.co.uk.

Included in the pack is a list of permanently available, FREE hands-on activities so that you can gauge how much time you will need  at each museum and what size groups you need to break your pack into. The Prison & Police Museum, in particular, has small spaces (cells!) and we recommend 8 or less per group, each with a leader.

Guided activities may be available midweek by prior arrangement: Availability is limited and will depend on what other activities are taking place and on availability of staff. Please ask us about:
Workhouse: schoolroom, rag rugging, role-play, granny’s cures
Prison and Police Museum: guided tour
Courthouse: acting out a historic court case
